Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex officially exited the royal family in March in an attempt to escape the media scrutiny that came with living in the spotlight. They made their move to Los Angeles amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and just bought a new home. One expert believes that, despite the couple putting down their roots in LA, Prince Harry’s future is “unclear.”
Meghan Markle ‘feels happy’ after their exit
Though the couple has escaped the royal spotlight, Prince Harry and Meghan have been lending their voices to causes that matter to them.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express that while Meghan seems to be enjoying this new chapter, Prince Harry’s adjustment is less clear.
“There is no doubt that this is very much her territory and this is where she feels happy,” Fitzwilliams explained. “This is her home and also where her voiceovers, speaking and engagements are.”
He continued, “She has shown that she is particularly adept to that. She is very articulate and she is an activist. Her last engagement, speaking at the Girl Up Leadership Summit, was very much something a Democratic party politician could have done.”
Fitzwilliams called LA Meghan’s “home turf,” adding, “She is very happy because they also have Archie.”

Things are ‘unclear’ for Prince Harry, expert claims
Prince Harry, the royal expert believes, had to give up so much of what he’s always known to make the Sussexes’ exit work and Harry’s future seems less certain.
“But so far as he is concerned, there is a question mark over what he has left behind,” Fitzwilliams noted. “The removal of his military titles that was very hurtful. I think particularly the title of Captain General of the Marines because that was his grandfather’s.”
“Also they made it absolutely clear that they are unhappy with the settlement with the queen, which is reviewed at the end of March next year,” he added. “Issues such as using ‘Sussexroyal’ or the fact that they wanted to be part-time royals.”
The expert further shared how “Harry fell head-over-heels in love with Meghan,” but their new chapter “is leading him to an area in his life that he thought he would never be in.”
The timing of their exit from the royal family introduced an additional issue for Prince Harry. Fitzwilliams explained, “The queen is 94 and Prince Philip is 99 and because of the pandemic he will not see them for some time and it is unclear what the future holds for him.”
