Marvel’s Moon Knight takes viewers to Egypt in episode 3, offering them a more in-depth look at Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) and his relationship with the Egyptian god Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham). The two find themselves in Cairo, attempting to stop Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) from unleashing Ammit upon the world. Unfortunately, their efforts don’t pan out as intended — and Moon Knight Episode 4 will throw new obstacles at them next week.

‘Moon Knight’ Episode 3 recap: mission to Egypt
Moon Knight Episode 3 picks up where the second chapter left off, with Marc Spector in Egypt. Khonshu has taken him there in order to prevent Arthur Harrow from locating Ammit’s tomb and subjecting humanity to her judgment. Unfortunately, Marc’s efforts to track down Harrow don’t go so well. Part of that has to do with Marc missing time — something Steven claims isn’t his fault. The interferences go unexplained this week, but they raise questions heading into the latter half of the series.
After Marc struggles to find Harrow, he and Khonshu turn to the other Egyptian gods for help. Harrow shows up in time to protest and emphasize why they can’t trust Khonshu. The gods wind up siding with him, forcing Marc to use other means to locate Ammit’s tomb. He learns that locating a sarcophagus will lead him to it. And luckily, Layla (May Calamawy) shows up to help.
The two visit Anton Mogart (portrayed by the late Gaspard Ulliel), a collector of ancient artifacts. However, they’re once again ambushed by Harrow, leading to one of the show’s most action-packed fight sequences yet. Marc and Layla go head to head with Anton and his followers, all while Harrow taunts the duo. He subtly drops hints about yet another one of Marc’s secrets, but viewers remain in the dark about what it might be.
In the end, Steven and Khonshu work together to find Ammit’s tomb, messing with time and space in a way that gets Khonshu imprisoned. It’s unclear what that means for Moon Knight‘s lead going into episode 4 — but it’s probably nothing good.
When does ‘Moon Knight’ come out? Episode 4 release date and time
With Khonshu imprisoned and Marc and Steven tasked with saving him, Moon Knight Episode 4 sounds like it could pit the show’s leads against the Egyptian gods themselves. That raises the stakes and creates plenty of intrigue heading into the second half of the Marvel series. So, when does the next chapter arrive?
Moon Knight hits Disney+ every Wednesday around 12 a.m. PST. According to CNET, this is what the show’s release schedule looks like in its entirety:
- Episode 1: March 30
- Episode 2: April 6
- Episode 3: April 13
- Episode 4: April 20
- Episode 5: April 27
- Episode 6: May 4
Episode 4 will bring fans beyond the halfway point, so Moon Knight‘s main plot should pick up in earnest in the coming installments. What else can viewers expect when the fourth installment drops on Disney+?
What to expect when episode 4 of the Marvel series hits Disney+
Marvel doesn’t release previews, synopses, or episode titles for future episodes of Moon Knight, so it’s hard to say what’s next for the Disney+ series. Still, “The Friendly Type” gives fans some idea of what they can expect from Marc Spector and Steven Grant’s story next. Namely, it suggests they’ll try to rescue Khonshu from his current prison.
They’ll also need to stop Harrow from enacting Ammit’s will. And there’s the matter of the memory loss Marc suffered, as well as his other big secret. There’s plenty left to explore when the series returns for its fourth chapter.
In the meantime, the first three episodes of Moon Knight are currently streaming on Disney+.
