A McDonald’s worker has made a bonkers video that appears to claim every size of drink you can order holds the same volume of liquid.
Filming his stunt at a branch of the fast-food chain in the US, TikTok user @mykah.mykah shows himself emptying the contents of a small cup of soda into a medium cup and then emptying the contents of that one into a large.
In the clip, it appears the volume is the same because the liquid almost reaches the top of the cup every time.
He captioned the video with: "They do be lying to us doe."
The video was "liked" on the video-sharing app more than 1.6 million times but not everyone was sure if they believed the outlandish claim or not.
Reckoning they had it figured out, one cynic said: "I think that there was already some Coca-Cola in the cups before he put some in."
In a similar vein, someone else commented: "Yeah show the bottom of the cup you won't."
Another person who claimed to work there said: "Small is 16oz, medium is 21oz and large is 32oz, but nice try."
Seemingly backing up the TikTok video maker's claims, another McDonald's employee said: "I worked at McDonald’s and this is true always say no ice or ice on the side (in another cup) and only order smalls NEVER mediums."
Other people were baffled by the whole debate, pointing out that even if the sizes were the same, people were still paying the same price.
"The cups are only a dollar each though so IDK what you’re trying to say," commented one.
In the online McDonald's menu, it appears the larger sizes of drinks contain more calories with just 110 cal for an extra small Coca-Cola and 290 cal for a large – indicating the TikTok video is a prank.
Daily Star Online has approached McDonald's for comment.
