Malia Obama enjoyed a movie date with her British boyfriend Rory Farquharson while out in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.

The 20-year-old Harvard student was seen smoking outside of director Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema theater after she and her beau saw The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, a 1972 German film about a lesbian love triangle.

Malia, who is visiting LA during LGBT Pride Week, was dressed in a white T-shirt and high-waisted shorts that she topped off with an oversize tan jacket to keep warm.

At one point, Malia lit a cigarette and started smoking with one of her friends

Malia has been spotted smoking a couple of times over the past couple of years

The former first daughter accessorized the look with a white canvas tote bag and a pair of high-top black sneakers. She wore her long braids pulled half up with a few tendrils framing her face.

Rory was dressed casually in a dark jacket, a navy blue polo shirt, jeans, and white sneakers.

The couple appeared to be celebrating Pride month with their choice of film, which was part of a double feature at the theater.

Directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kantis is about a love triangle between a manipulative fashion designer, her slavish assistant, and an ambitious model.

The controversial film was followed by Fox and His Friends, the director’s 1975 movie about a working-class gay hustler.

Malia and Rory were joined by a group of friends, and after the film was over, they hung out outside of the historic theater. At one point, she lit a cigarette and started smoking with one of her pals.

She has been spotted smoking on numerous occasions and appears to have inherited her father’s weakness for nicotine.

Former President Barack Obama was also a regular smoker prior to entering the White House and was spotted several times chewing on Nicorette gum to fight the habit.

Malia was also accused of smoking marijuana in 2016 after a video of her puffing on a suspicious cigarette was released.

One of Malia’s friends was sporting a Harley-Davidson sweatshirt and a denim skirt

Barack and Michelle Obama’s eldest daughter was seen inhaling from the cigarette during the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.

The brief clip showed the then 18-year-old mingling with crowds as she took a drag. An eyewitness insisted she was smoking a joint.

Malia and her boyfriend have been together since they met as students at Harvard in 2017, and they appear to be happier than ever.

Rory sweetly kissed Malia on the forehead while they were outside, and when they left, he threw his arm around her shoulders as they walked away from the theater.

He first entered the media spotlight when he was caught passionately kissing Malia before a Harvard-Yale football game in November 2017.
