Kylie Jenner Might Lose Some Of Her Millions Following The Astroworld Tragedy

Although Travis Scott is the one facing a lawsuit for the Astroworld tragedy, Kylie Jenner may stand to lose millions amid the controversy.

According to The Sun, a source revealed that Kylie is worried about how the tragedy will affect her businesses. Since the incident, which took place on Friday, November 5th, Kylie has been relatively silent on social media. Her brands, including Kylie Baby, Kylie Skin, Kylie Cosmetics, and Kylie Swim, have also taken breaks from posting online.

Kylie’s silence on social media has been out of respect for those who lost their lives or were injured at the festival, the insider explained.

“She feels like she’s in a lose-lose situation because she wants to take time to respect the victims from Astroworld but at the same time, she employs a lot of people,” the source said.

But now that it’s been over a week since the tragedy, the source explains Kylie is wondering when the right time is to resume her social media presence. Every day her brands stay mum online, it means more missed opportunities for marketing, which translates into lost sales.

“The longer her companies go without being active on social media or promotion, the more sales go down and the less they make from marketing,” the insider continued. “We’re talking potentially millions of dollars in losses.”

Additionally, the outlet notes that Kylie makes around $1 million per sponsored Instagram post. So, even if her brands resume posting to social media, Kylie could still be taking a financial hit if she doesn’t return to her personal accounts.

However, when contacted by The Sun, Kylie’s representatives shut down the allegations. “Your information is incorrect,” they stated.

Following the release of his third album Astroworld in 2018, Travis Scott announced the creation of his annual festival of the same name. On the first day of this year’s Astroworld festival, the crowd turned dangerous and resulted in at least 8 people’s death. In addition, over 20 others were hospitalized and 300 people were treated for injuries. The three-day festival’s two other dates were subsequently cancelled.

Kylie, who is currently expecting her second child with Travis, released a statement via Instagram the Sunday after the fatal event. “My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in any way by yesterday’s events,” she wrote.

The businesswoman added that neither she nor Travis were aware of the fatalities until after the show ended. “In no world would [he] have continued filming or performing [if he knew],” she wrote.

Travis is currently facing multiple million-dollar lawsuits over the Astroworld tragedy. Surprise performer Drake as well the event’s organizer Live Nation are also being sued.
