Most recently, Goop founderGwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she will recruit a “mentor” to help walk her through the new phase of her life.
Speaking to W magazine, the 49 year old explained that she was keeping fit in addition to “staying close” to her doctor and medical expert.
“Diet and exercise are super important,” she said.
“I try to walk multiple times a week, sweat, exercise, I sauna, and those are just my ways of coping.”
But this isn’t the first time that the mum-of-two has spoken about depending on others to guide her through her menopause experience.
In a Goop video in 2018, the Oscar winner said: “I think menopause gets a really bad rap and needs a bit of rebranding.”
She added: “I don’t think we have in our society a great example of an aspirational menopausal woman.”

What is a menopause mentor?
Essentially a menopause mentor is someone who has experienced the menopause and is able to give others support.
Whether it’s answering questions about what to expect, or alleviating any concerns, they’re on hand to provide guidance and act as someone that people can turn to in confidence.
With the symptoms of menopauselasting an average of four years, mentors provide support from the beginning of perimenopause all the way through to menopause and beyond.
Who else may seek a menopause mentor?
According to research byWales TUC, 88% of workers who’ve experienced the menopause reported it having an affect on their working life, making it a huge health and wellbeing concern for staff.
As a result, though individuals may seek their own menopause mentor, some workplaces are turning to menopause mentors to improve education within the workplace.
For instance, in 2021 law firmBlake Morgan announced that it had launched a ‘Menopause Mentors’ scheme to train a selection of employees who’d go on to be on hand to give others advice and support.
