I feel like a failure after being dumped by my cheating ex for a second time

DEAR DEIDRE: I WAS thrilled when the ex who broke my heart by leaving me for another woman got back in touch suddenly in the summer.

Someone told me the other woman had kicked him out, but I didn’t care.

It was as if we’d never been apart and the sex was better than ever.

We didn’t talk about what happened and just picked up where we left off.

We’d been together for five years. I am 43 and he is 36.

But now I’m devastated all over again.

He saw me less and less, then last month came round to say it wasn’t working.

Now he’s back with the woman he cheated on me with. I feel such a failure.

DEIDRE SAYS: You are not a failure but may have a trusting nature – which is an attractive characteristic but can leave you vulnerable to lying cheats.

It could help to talk to a counsellor to work out if there were warning signs you missed and to be sure you make better choices for yourself in future.
