Roast potatoes are undeniably one of the highlights of any Sunday roast and they can make or break a lavish dinner with the family.
But succulent spuds can be a nightmare to get perfect every time and many home chefs have their own closely-guarded secrets and tips for cooking them.
TikTok user @izmott claims her "crispy" roast potatoes are so good they’ve made her the "favourite child" and explained her method in a video demonstration.
In the clip, captioned "how to make perfect roast potatoes", her spuds are seen peeled and boiling away in a large pan.
Isabella says to parboil the potatoes until they are "fluffy but not too soft".
Meanwhile, she chops up fresh rosemary and a few cloves of garlic and mixes them together.
The parboiled potatoes are drained and covered in enough flour so that it resembles light batter.
Isabella then loads the potatoes in a roasting tray and covers them in hot goose fat, making sure every side is covered so they caramelise beautifully in the oven.
The rosemary and garlic are scattered on top.
Next, the potatoes are cooked at 200C for 20 minutes and flipped over, before being cooked for another 20 minutes.
Isabella likes to turn up to 220C for the final bit of cooking to crisp them up.
Zooming in for a close-up of their golden-brown skins, she declares them "perfect roasts!" in the on-screen caption.
Impressed viewers thanked Isabella for the tips, with one writing: "Add flour, now I know.
"Defo trying this, thank you."
"Hm goose fat? Never heard of it, gotta love the Brits," said a bemused-sounding fan.
If you're not sure which variety of potato to use, Maris Piper, King Edward, and Desiree are often touted as the best for roasting up in the oven.
A more out-there roast potato hack is using couscous on your spuds that reportedly adds crunch in a similar way to semolina.
Meanwhile, this £3 roast chicken recipe hack is said to make a perfectly juicy bird every time.
