Couple send list of wedding 'rules' that include not speaking to the bride

By nature, weddings come with pressure.

The hype of the day can be difficult to handle, and all brides and grooms want their day to be perfect.

However, one couple seems to have taken their pursuit of excellence a little too far.

In a thread on Reddit, an email containing a ‘rules and regulations’ list for a wedding was shared.

Sent by the wedding planner to all guests on behalf of the couple, the list included a range of stipulations.

Some were quite standard, such as ‘don’t wear white, cream or ivory’ but others were more extreme.

‘Do not talk to the bride at all’ and ‘must come with gift 75$ or more or you won’t be admitted in’ were two that shocked users.

The email was posted to the Choosing Beggars thread on Reddit last Wednesday and garnered over 33,400 likes in just 24 hours.

Many pointed out that the rule to only wear ‘a basic bob or ponytail’ would simply not apply to all attendees.

‘I do hope everyone with short hair, especially the men, are able to get extensions so they can fashion their hair into a simple ponytail,’ commented one user.

‘I’m thinking wigs. Wigs in all colours. Fastest way to get a bob,’ said another.

Others pondered about the gift.

One wrote: ‘I think a $75 donation to a charity is the perfect gift for this wacko.’

While another joked: ‘Bring a gift worth $74.99, see if they let you in.’

It has to be pointed out that the post was anonymous, so it is difficult to say whether the list is real or not.

However, whatever the truth, we think it’s a pretty good marker for what not to do when planning a wedding.
