Black Pound Day was started by So Solid Crew member Swiss in June 2020. It’s a “solution-based, community-empowering campaign and motivating endeavour that will leave a better infrastructure for the next generation to walk into”. It occurs on the first Saturday of each month, with a focus on supporting Black owned enterprises.
This month, being huge foodies ourselves, we are focussing on Black British Businesses which enhance your culinary experience – from pre-made sauces to cook books to start from scratch, you’ll not be disappointed!
It’s our mission to lead our followers to a wide range of UK Black Owned businesses and to shine a light on Black British culture – check us out on @afro_leads.

This is a delightful, inspiring collection of recipes which reflect the British-Nigerian author’s dual heritage. We are intrigued to try out interesting fusion recipes such as the jollof arancini and plantain chocolate brownies. The images within the book are gorgeous and enticing.
