Shopping as we used to know it has changed in the face of the lockdown.

On May 11 the government issued new guidance on going out and about, suggesting people should “wear a face covering in an enclosed space where social distancing isn’t possible and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet” such as in shops.

The British Trade Consortium has since issued a statement suggesting it’s not necessarily required for shoppers to wear a face covering when they do their weekly shop.

Some shops have insisted their customers wear face masks in store but Asda has said the decision remains with its customers if they choose to don a face covering when shopping.

Staff have been supplied with optional face masks, however, and workers in the pharmacy and optician teams have been required to wear masks since the beginning of the pandemic in accordance with the government guidelines.

Despite the lockdown measures, Asda still has a host of deals, discounts and offers for you to enjoy this bank holiday weekend.

Why not snap up Asda’s 3 for £21 mix and match beer deal – choose three cases of selected brands including Becks, Budweiser Carlsberg and Sol for just £21.
