I’m 32 and she’s 29.

At the end of the after-show party, another cast member who’d had a few drinks came up to me and said “You’re punching there,” referencing my girlfriend.

Then she said goodbye and gave me a peck on the lips.

It all happened so fast that I didn’t have time to react and move my head away.

But when we got home, it caused a big row between me and my girlfriend. She said it was disrespectful.

Now she says she can’t trust me and has broken up with me.

How can I sort this out? I did nothing wrong.

DEIDRE SAYS: It does sound like your girlfriend has misread this situation and overreacted to an innocent, if clumsy, gesture.

Try talking to her calmly and explain again that this kiss took you by surprise.

Reassure her that it’s her you love and you have no interest in this woman.
