New Year’s Eve has arrived and shoppers have just a few hours to stock up on their favourite drinks and snacks ahead of any party plans this evening. Tonight, Britain will welcome in 2020 and wave good bye to the last decade – which brought plenty of changes for the UK.
From Brexit to Boris Johnson’s recent election victory, Britain has a big year ahead.
And millions of people are expected to gather at parties, or settle down on their sofas at home to wave goodbye to 2019 tonight.
But whether you’re at home or heading out this evening, you may need to stock up on a few last-minute supplies tonight.

What time does Aldi open?
Aldi was business as usual in the run-up to Christmas.
The retailer closed its doors on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and after this opening hours changed slightly.
While it may seem confusing, Express.co.uk has compiled this handy guide to the opening hours for a majority of Aldi’s 830 stores below.
On New Year’s Eve, shops will open from 8am to 6pm.
So you best get in earlier if you need to stock up for a party tonight!
Aldi will close its stores once again on New Year’s Day – January 1 – as it did on Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year.
But good news for Aldi shoppers as the stores will open on Thursday, January 2 from 8am to 10pm.
Stores will return to normal opening hours after this.
Aldi warned customers the times shown above apply to most UK stores but this may vary.
