Zara Tindall gets 'mum guilt' just like Kate Middleton – and feels bad when she and Mike work away at the same time

ZARA Tindall has admitted that she gets “mum guilt” just like Kate Middleton.

The eldest granddaughter of the Queen, 38, revealed that at times she struggles with balancing work and being a mum to Mia Grace, six, and Lena Elizabeth, one.

Just last week, mum-of-three Kate Middleton, 38, spoke to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast about feeling guilty about being away from her kids.

In December, Zara told Australian publication Now to Love: “If I'm away and Mike's here I don't feel guilty, whereas if we're both away then I feel much more guilty."

Although she is not a full-time working royal, Zara has kept busy with a number of ventures over the years.

Zara followed in her mum Princess Anne’s footsteps and completed in the 2012 London Olympics where she won a silver medal, and recently was appointed a director at Cheltenham racecourse.

Zara lives in Gloucestershire with former rugby union husband Mike Tindall, and oldest daughter Mia attends a local primary school.

Meanwhile, Kate admitted to feeling guilty when working royal duties away for long periods away from George, six, Charlotte, four and 21-month-old Louis.

Podcast host Giovanna – wife of popstar Tom Fletcher from McFly – described how every parent suffers from mum guilt if they are away from their children for work.

The Duchess replied:  "Yes absolutely – and anyone who doesn’t as a mother is actually lying!

"Yep – all the time, yep – and you know even this morning, coming to the nursery visit here – George and Charlotte were like ‘Mummy how could you possibly not be dropping us off at school this morning?’

"But no it’s a constant challenge – you hear it time and time again from mums, even mums who aren’t necessarily working and aren’t pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life."

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties, Kate has increased her workload and launched her Five Big Questions survey, which has taken her nationwide.

As Princess Anne didn’t give Zara or brother Peter royal titles, the siblings have been able to live a relatively down-to-earth life.

Zara previously told The Times in 2015: "I'm very lucky that both my parents decided to not use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do."

Zara tied the knot with Mike in 2011, and she moved from Cheltenham to live in the “relative calm” of Gatcombe Park, where she grew up.

We previously shared how the couple love nothing more than a date night in with a “curry and a boxset”.

Speaking to Fabulous Digital, a source said: “She and Mike relax in their dog-strewn home with a box set, a good curry and some lagers to assist the evening.

“Mike and Zara are a real team, a strong family unit, genuinely still in love, they hold hands in public, and are the best company to be around.

“They love a Saturday night in their local pub, content in then knowledge that their two happy daughters are tucked up with granny Princess Anne, listening to her reading them stories.”

In early January, the Tindall family were spotted surfing and having a beach day in Australia.

And Mike Tindall appears to accidentally reveal his secret nickname for Zara is ‘Zoey’ during a conversation about his wife.
