MUMS have been left impressed at discovering that some M&S trousers have a second hem for when kids grow too tall for their uniforms.
A woman posted a photo of the secret label explaining the money-saving feature and admitted she was baffled.
Taking the Facebook group Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas, she wrote: “I was today years old when I found this out about M&S school trousers!
“How did I not know this. There is actually a proper double hem!!”
The M&S website says that the grow proof hems add an extra 3cm onto the length of the trousers and help them to “last all year”.
It says: “Just unpick and press for an extra 3cm. Added stretch and an adjustable waist for a perfect fit”.
After being up for just a few hours, it seems the discovery has also surprised a number of other parents.
The post has racked up over 5,000 likes, and many mums praising the store for having clothing that can last a few years.
One said: “I've always bought M&S trousers, how did i not know.”
Another added: “I have never seen this thank you.”
And one commented: “What a great idea.”
