Queen Rania of Jordan chooses vibrant ensemble in New York

For her first day in New York, Queen Rania wore a colourful ensemble from Erdem, a printed short-sleeve blouse and a printed pleated skirt.

The Queen of Jordan chose The Michaela satin top in red and floral pattern with a scarf detail for the occasion, which retails for £695.

The designer’s website described the piece as “a vibrant statement” cut “from red hammered satin”.

The description reads: “It is decorated with the Penrose Toile De Jouy print, inspired by the artist Eileen Agar’s eclectic works.

“This short-sleeved style has a stand collar and an oversized tie fastening at the back of the neck. Tuck it into the coordinating Flora Skirt.”

Queen Rania did so and combined it with the matching midi skirt in red, which has a price tag of £1,245.

The website explained: “The Flora Skirt is cleverly crafted with pleated inserts that create added movement and volume.

“It is crafted from red hammered satin that’s printed with the season’s Penrose Toile De Jouy floral. Wear yours with the Michaela Top in the matching fabric.”

Queen Rania donned her Louis Vuitton clutch bag, the Lockme Clutch in grey, and a pair of black navy suede pumps from JENNIFER CHAMANDI.

The shoes were very similar to the ones she wore during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in London earlier this week and social media users were quick to point it out.

Royal watcher @carocatalfamo commented: “These are the shoes she wore for the Queen’s funeral. They are beautiful.”

For jewellery, Rania was seen wearing a pair of delicate gold drop earrings and sported her Fitbit on her right wrist.

Royal watcher @mydocuments_ commented the ensemble the Queen chose for the event was “Erdem done right”.

“Especially the added neck scarf, it really elevates the shape of the blouse.”

Social media user @isabelq42 believed Queen Rania looked very elegant during the event in the United States.

“Lots of royals have arrived in NYC for UN-related meetings and events this week. Queen Letizia and Crown Prince Frederik had various events today and Crown Princess Mary arrives tomorrow and has solo events and with Frederik for two days,” she explained.

The Clinton Global Initiative returned to New York City bringing together world leaders from nonprofit organizations, Governments and businesses.

Queen Rania of Jordan is an international human rights advocate for the United Nations and her work focuses on education and cross-cultural dialogue.

The monarch also serves as an Eminent Advocate for UNICEF and Honorary Chairperson for the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI).

In addition to her role as the wife of King Abdullah II and a mother of four, Queen Rania works to improve the lives of Jordanians by supporting efforts to create new opportunities, enhancing the public education system, empowering women and their communities and improving child and family protection services.
