The Princess Royal wowed royal fans in a monochrome block colour outfit whilst in Paris for a whistle-stop, two-day visit. As a member of the International Olympic Committee, Anne met senior representatives of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games over the course of the two days. On Monday, the 71-year-old then visited the Longchamp Racecourse where she watched the 100th edition of the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe.

Presenting a trophy to the winner, the Princess Royal wore a dazzling teal coat, with a wide lapel, and a matching hat with floral detail.

She also donned black leather gloves and a matching handbag.
The Queen’s daughter accessorised with pearl earrings and added some red lipstick.

Charlotte White, head of design at Europe’s largest online diamond jeweller 77 Diamonds, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the Princess Royal’s choice of jewellery while in Paris.

Charlotte said: “To complement her brightly coloured monochromatic outfit, Princess Anne opted to wear a delicate gold brooch and gold earrings to a recent royal engagement in Paris.

“Princess Anne appeared to mirror her surroundings by wearing an appropriately themed horse brooch to watch the 100th edition of the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

“The earrings are also striking in nature because their geometric lines and lozenge shape largely differ from pieces usually worn by any member of the Royal Family, which often favour smoother lines and have a more traditional or even historical reality.

“By way of contrast, at the 75th anniversary of UNESCO, Princess Anne opted for classic over contemporary with an autumnal outfit, this time featuring a standout pyramid-shaped diamond brooch.

“Paired with elegant pearl-drop earrings, the contrast allowed for the focus to chiefly remain on the brooch, with each of the diamonds leading the eye towards the sizeable, central ruby coloured stone.”

Royal fans took to social media to express their admiration for Princess Anne’s style while on the continent.

Farah Sadoq wrote on Twitter: “I like Anne’s coat! Now that is my kind of coat.”

Twitter user Cacarson added: “I am obsessed with Anne’s scarf.”

Royal fan Maria Fiorella Borrini commented saying: “A tribute to France in the clothing by Princess Anne.

“Elegant and discreet in her personal bon-ton style, and notice how enchanted the children look at her! Nice picture.”

A fan account for the Royal Family, The Royal Crabbit, wrote: “That figure. I mean, HRH is re-wearing clothes from the 70s/80s.

“I admire that she is active, healthy. Puts us to shame and I admire her for it.”

Vanessa Gillieo agreed, adding: “Even though I love fashion, I like the fact that Anne wears clothes from the 70s/80s and she still looks stylish.

“She’s in great shape.”

Royal fan Lucinda LC commented on Twitter as well, saying: “Oh I say! The Princess Royal is so fashionable in her suede boots with tassels!

“They are so youthful on her.”

However, Tara Hayle did not like Princess Anne’s hairstyle, as she wrote: “The Princess Royal has gorgeous hair but I wish she would let it down like she used to.”
