New York Fashion Week: Fashion-forward P.J. Tucker hits the front row

If you try to block NBA star P.J. Tucker from wearing something outlandish, odds are he’ll probably extend its playing time.

The 6-foot-6 Houston Rockets forward just doesn’t care if his teammates call foul on his zany get-ups. Do they tease him? “All the time!” he told The Post at the Prabal Gurung show. “If they’re not making fun of me, then I’m not doing a good job!”

The champion sneaker head owns thousands of pairs of rare kicks and spent $36,000 on a pair of Back to the Future Nike Air Mags. To boot, he also has discerning taste in designer brands. At the Prabal Gurung show, he went on the style offensive with a pink and orange patterned jacket by the designer, multicolored Dries Van Noten pants and Nike Sacai sneakers in Starburst shades.

“I like to have fun with it, I like to try new and different things. Maybe some stuff that most people wouldn’t try.”

One of his worst sartorial violations – according to his teammates – was an immense Italian outfit. “I wore this gray and white Marni suit that was super oversized. It was a runway suit and it was supposed to be like that, obviously. They were all over me. They were like, ‘You’re supposed to be a fashion guy! It’s not even tailored!’ They hated it, hated it.”

“It was super cool,” he adds with a grin. “It’s still one of my favorite suits.”

He won’t listen to his wife, Tracy, either. “She’ll say stuff and I’ll be like, ‘OK, thanks!’ I’ll probably do the opposite anyway and I’ll still wear it. I don’t care what she thinks when it comes to my clothes.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have opinions about her wardrobe. Tucker said he loves to dress her “a lot.” “I get stuff for her all the time. Right now, Céline. I love Céline.”

An all-star choice for sure.
