I feel sick when I see snaps of myself before my sunbed addiction… trolls call me a leather couch, but I look great | The Sun

A YOUNG beauty fan has been savagely trolled for her sunbed addiction, with meanies comparing her skin to a leather couch.

Whilst some embrace their pale complexion, others feel their best when rocking a tan – and TikTok user Scarlett Yerbury (@scarlett_04xx), from Coventry, belongs in the latter category.

In fact, she prefers the bronzed look so much that she'd give herself a harsh rating when seeing snaps of herself before the addiction.

The young woman took to TikTok to reveal just how far things had gone.

Posing with a fresh tan from a sunbed and a juicy pout full of lip filler, Scarlett told her 5.6k followers she felt better when rocking the fake look.

''When I saw that little motherf***er's face, I thought 'F**k me, 4/10'.''

She even chuckled in the comments of the video, saying she hoped to become as bright orange as the zip-up jacket she's wearing.

But whilst she may feel more confident this way, people on social media urged Scarlett to be more careful with sunbeds.

Sunbeds have long been linked to skin cancer and have even been banned in countries like Brazil and Australia.

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), there is significant evidence to show that using tanning beds causes melanoma.

People are only just realising what it means when someone 'pays cash'

Fashion fans are just realising they’ve been pronouncing Shein wrong for YEARS

They report that sunbeds increase the risk of skin cancer by up to 20 per cent, and also state that they have no positive benefits to our health.

Sharing her expertise, Carol Cooper, Sun Doctor, said: ''Let’s be clear about sunbeds. It’s not just ‘some’ experts that say they’re bad for your skin. It’s almost all of them.

''All three common skin cancers are linked with excess UV rays.

''And there’s overwhelming evidence that, compared with natural sunlight, sunbeds are far more likely to cause skin cancer.

''Actually, anyone who’s ever used a sunbed is at least 20% more likely to develop malignant melanoma, the deadliest skin cancer.

''UV rays damage the DNA in skin cells, so they’re more likely to mutate into cancer. You don’t even have to burn for it to happen.''

Many insisted that Scarlett will grow to look back and wished she had never tanned as often, with one woman writing: ''as I’m about to turn 40, the smartest thing I ever did was wear spf and stay away from the tanning beds.

''eventually you’ll regret it, girl.''

Someone else agreed, commenting: ''Me 24 years ago..truly. Regretted.''

A meanie penned: ''your skin looks like leather.. maybe stick to self tanner.''
