Loose Women: Eamonn jokes about kiss with Ruth Langsford
This Morning star Ruth Langsford, 60, has spoken out after her home life post sparked a surprising amount of backlash on Instagram this afternoon. It all kicked off when the presenter informed her 986,000 followers she was being productive on her day off by “clearing out the loft”.
The Loose Women panellist shared a video of a skip, which was full to the brim, as she gave her fans an insight into her day.
She captioned the short clip: “Day off….grey, rainy & miserable but….
“I have a skip and I’m clearing out the loft….HAPPY PLACE!!”
However, some eagle-eyed fans noticed Ruth had placed some cardboard in her skip outside the home she shares with her husband Eamonn Holmes, 61.

This prompted them to question why she hadn’t recycled it.
One person wrote: “Why not recycle the cardboard????”
Another added: “Why are you not recycling especially the cardboard boxes.”
A third fan commented: “You should be setting a good example, and be recycling all that cardboard Ruth.”
A fourth Instagram user wrote: “Why is recyclable cardboard being thrown with rubbish is that the tip?”
“Naughty you should be recycling the cardboard boxes x,” a fifth fan replied.
After seeing the criticism building in the comments section of her post, Ruth shared a follow-up video explaining that she was in fact planning on recycling the cardboard she put in the skip.
Hitting back at her “accusers”, the presenter wrote: “WHOA accusers!!!

“All cardboard is being kept to one side until my recycling collection next week…
“I’m an avid recycler….that’s why I’m known as the Recycling Officer in our house!”
Fans seemed to appreciate her explanation, with one writing back: “Sados even commenting on someone’s recycling. Get a grip.”
Another agreed: “When I seen the cardboard go in I thought oh no Ruth you’re walking into that one.”
“It gets recycled regardless anyway, whether it’s in the skip or your recycling,” a third person pointed out.
Elsewhere, Ruth and her other half Eamonn have been hosting This Morning on Fridays together for over a decade.
However, Eamonn recently admitted she originally wasn’t keen on the idea.
Eamonn divulged the surprising fact while speaking to Nicki Chapman on Talking Success podcast: “She’s worked at This Morning longer than any other presenter has and then a couple of years into her presenting, they phoned me and said ‘Would you like to do this?’ and Ruth said no, she wouldn’t like to do this, she didn’t think it was a good idea.
“So she’s never been keen on us working together ever, so I think we work… I mean people are very nice when we work together but, I think we both prefer to work apart.”
