Prince William has paid tribute to his late grandfather Prince Philip with a sweet new photo of him with George.

The 38 year old took to his official Instagram account Kensington Royal the post the snap, which sees the Duke of Edinburgh dressed in a navy coat with grey trousers as he sits on a horse carriage with his great-grandson, now seven.

The snap is thought to have been taken by Prince William's wife Kate Middleton, 39, in Norfolk back in 2015.

In the caption, the royal wrote: "My grandfather’s century of life was defined by service – to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family."
