Viewers criticised the DJ, whose real name is Shahid Khan, on social media after he declared his time there “is done”. In response, his family, who he enlisted to run his social media while away, explained people didn’t know “what he’s battling on the outside world” and that his mother is “battling dementia”. His family provided vital support he needed to build his current career, during which he has collaborated with several high-powered stars. From Emili Sande to Beyonce, here are Naughty Boy’s most famous songs revealed.
Naughty Boy helped write and produce “Diamond Rings” in 2009.
Chip – who, at the time, went by Chipmunk – performed the song alongside Emili Sande, adding two blockbuster stars to his roster.
The experience sparked a working relationship between Naughty Boy and Emili, with whom he has collaborated several more times since.
He worked with the singer again the following year alongside Wiley for his 2010 song “Never Be Your Woman”.
Hotel Cabana was Naughty Boy’s debut album, in which Emili featured heavily.
She appeared a total of eight times in tracks on the release.
Emili wasn’t the only famous singer present on the CD, as it was bursting with a star-studded lineup.
Other featured artists included:
- Sam Smith
- Ed Sheehan
- Wretch 32
- Tinie Tempah
- Wiz Khalifa
- Ella Eyre
- Mic Righteous
- Chasing Grace
Runnin’ (Lose It All)
Perhaps the most famous name to feature alongside Naughty Boy was Beyonce’s.
She joined the DJ in 2015 for “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” alongside Arrow Benjamin, and it premiered on September 17 that year.
The song performed well in the charts, reaching pole position in France and Scotland and the top 10 in the UK.
The unreleased studio sessions album
Naughty Boy teased he was working on a second album in 2018.
The unnamed release, he said at the time, was to become a “real sick playlist that anyone and everyone can listen to”.
Much like his debut, the DJ has teased participation from a broad range of mega stars.
But it has faced significant delays, and in 2020 he said he had completed studio sessions with 17 musicians without confirming who would feature.
The musicians included:
- Dua Lipa
- Paloma Faith
- Joe Jonas
- Bebe Rexha
- Wyclef Jean
- Craig David
- Ray BLK
- Mike Posner
- Tom Walker
- Calum Scott
- Julia Michaels
