Meghan Markle has shared a touching message in memory of Caroline Flack on what would have been her 41st birthday.
Love Island host Caroline was found dead at her London home in February after taking her own life at the age of 40.
The Duchess of Sussex, 39, has now shared an emotional statement to mark Social Media Kindness Day, which is being held on Caroline's birthday in her memory.
Royal commentator Omid Scobie – who wrote Finding Freedom, the controversial biography on Meghan and her husband Prince Harry – shared her message on social media.

He wrote: "#SocialMediaKindnessDay is being held on Monday in memory of @carolineflack1, who suffered horrendous trolling and abuse via social media. Duchess Meghan has lent her support to the initiative."
Meghan's statement reads: "For so many, social media plays a big part of their daily life.
"We have access to it at the ends of our fingertips, so it ought to be a safer and kinder place for all.
"It saddens me that in today’s society Social Media Kindness Day is deemed necessary. But it absolutely is!"
She finished: "I sincerely hope this much needed awareness day is a success. I fully support the initiative."
The website running the campaign said: "It is through her [Caroline’s] message of being kind that this day is connected to her.
"We are wanting it to be a movement, not just for a day but for generations to come – where unkindness isn't tolerated."
Lewis Burton, who was Caroline's boyfriend at the time of her death, has also taken to social media to emotionally pay tribute to the former Love Island host.

The tennis player, 28, shared a previously unseen clip of him and the late presenter together and admitted he misses her.
Lewis, who is now dating Lottie Tomlinson, shared the black and white clip on his Instagram story.
It shows Lewis holding the camera up to himself while Caroline can be heard speaking in the background.
He then moves the camera to show Caroline, who is wearing a checked patterned scarf and coat.

Caroline stops to look at the camera and stops in the street as Lewis continues to walk away.
She is then be seen laughing as Lewis continues to walk and moves the camera to show himself smiling.
As he shared the touching clip on his Instagram story, Caroline's former boyfriend wrote on top: "Happy birthday up there," followed by a red heart emoji.
