Nashville nastiness! A full-fledged feud has taken over the country music world due to an Instagram post from Jason Aldean’s wife that some felt was transphobic (others felt it was on point.) Last week, Brittany Aldean shared an Instagram message that showed her getting glammed up. “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life,” she wrote. The post was highly controversial, as her detractors felt it was a transphobic message. After the message, Brittany got praise and ridicule from others in the industry and entertainment.

“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.” –Cassadee Pope commented in her criticism of Brittany Aldean.

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie,” Maren Morris said in her critique of Brittany Aldean. Brittany replied, “Karen Morris. Thanks for calling me Barbie.”

“Hahaha i love you” –Jon Pardi’s wife, Summer, told Brittany.

“Love you so much!! you da best!!!” said Chuck Wicks’ wife, Kasi Rosa Wicks (Kasi is Jason Aldean’s sister.) Chuck told Brittany, “We love you!”

“Bravo @MarenMorris it’s when you selflessly bear another’s burden that you actually reflect gods love. Way to not tolerate disgusting behavior. It’s tough…but good to see this hidden divide exposed in country music- let your little light shine,” Brandi Carlile tweeted in support of her Highwomen mate. To Cassadee Pope, she tweeted, “Well done @CassadeePope you AngelI’m overseas and just catching up to al this – so proud and grateful.”

“Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils. Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly, that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions. Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions.” –Brittany Aldean during the fracas

“Sucks when Karens try to hide their homophobia/transphobia behind their ‘protectiveness of the children.’ Weren’t they putting their kids in Biden-is-a-pedo shirts on social media? Sounds like a real safe way to protect them from millions of eyes!” –Maren Morris

“Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isn’t something that is brave at all. And I’m proud of Maren for sticking up for them. Badge of honor to have [Candace Owens] engage in completely normal discourse, too. Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with. Getting a lot of people telling me our career is over, as if the last time she spoke up about something it disappeared. Honestly, we’re pretty ok over here. Tours are good, got a 2 year old we love, we’re f****** fine, and I promise she isn’t going to shut up now. And on another note, I always support and love Maren, I know I’m sparse in the internet but I am proud of her and always will be. For everything she stands for, I do too. Ready to get some rest together and enjoy our little kid. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.” –Ryan Hurd, Maren Morris’ husband

In a message to Maren Morris and Cassadee Peope, Jonathn Van Ness tweeted, “Love to see ally’s& to be clear intersex kids which make up at least 2% of all kids face genital mutilation to enforce cisgender norms everyday. While we are at it. Trans young people under 18 almost never get surgical gender affirming surgeries. If they do & is a huge if – it happens it is with parental consent & loads of doctors. Hormone blockers & hormone blockers are reversible. lets stop the transphobic nonsense.”

“Waking up happy that my parents didn’t raise me to be as rude and nasty as @brittanyaldean. I also would like to say the LGBTQs have clearer skin without whatever she pushin’.” –Joy Oladokun
