Celebrity chef and actress Lisa Faulkner, 49, has revealed she is unsure whether her and husband John Torode’s ITV series will continue beyond this season. The stars filmed a new series of the culinary show this September, but Lisa has admitted she doesn’t know about the future of the programme yet, despite its popularity with viewers.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Lisa said of the show: “It’s really popular!
“So we’ve got another 10 episodes, which we start filming in September, and that will take us up to January/mid-January.
“So I don’t know after that, let’s hope we get some more, that would be lovely.”
Lisa went on to discuss what it was like for her and her MasterChef host husband to film during the coronavirus pandemic.
The former Holby City actress said: “We started filming a new series of that in September.
“We actually went into a studio.”
Recalling social distancing restrictions, she said: “It was difficult, because we had a big stick that we had to keep away from everybody else.
“Luckily, we live together so we didn’t have to,” Lisa added of John.
She continued: “We had a really skeleton crew we had very, very few people, and everyone kept two metres distance and people really kept to it, so we felt very safe.
“It was hard as in, you’re doing your make-up, you’re putting on your clothes, and you’re in your costumes and whatever.
“But also at the same time you’re sweating, and hot because you’re cooking, and there’s nobody to check what you look like.
“So there were a couple of periods where I looked a bit shiny and sweaty, but it was so much fun to do,” the TV star admitted.

Lisa also reflected on her mishaps in the kitchen.
She recalled an awkward moment she suffered on her and John’s self-titled ITV show.
Lisa said: “On John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen , on the last show, we were making cocktails.
“Now, cocktails are not my strongest point, as in I don’t have the best luck.”
She explained: “I had to do it in a cocktail shaker, and the cocktail shaker broke, the ice went everywhere.
“We put the outtakes on Instagram, and it’s very funny!”
John and Lisa tied the knot in October 2019.
The chefs got married in front of their close friends and family in an autumn-inspired wedding ceremony, which took place at Aynhoe Park in Northamptonshire.
John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen airs this morning at 11.40am on ITV.
