Joe Biden has been named President of the United States after a prolonged vote count – beating Donald Trump to the required 270 electoral college votes.
He will be inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States in January, after Pennsylvania gave Biden 20 votes – pushing him over the line.
Multiple news agencies, including CNN, New York Times and BBC have called the result, with some states still left to declare a final count.
Right on cue, fans reacted to the election results – and Trump’s ousting from the White House.
Ariana Grande was left in tears over the announcement, after spending the last few months pledging her support to Joe Biden.
Ariana Grande wasn’t the only famous face in tears at the news, as Lady Gaga broke down during an Instagram video.
‘Hey everybody, I hope you’re all celebrating,’ she began a teary video. ‘I hope all the women know in this country that there is a real reckoning and a real change.
‘I hope people whose voices who have been oppressed by power, I hope you know your voices were heard.’
Struggling to regain herself, she continued: ‘I’m just…. I’m honestly kind of speechless. This is a very, very special day.
‘It’s a day where a lot of people who felt like we were living in a state of terror and aggression all the time, that it’s over.
‘You can feel warm now.’
Khloe Kardashian joined the emotional stars as she took in the news.
In a tweet on her page, she told fans: ‘OMG I want to cry tears of joy!!!! Bravo!!!
It was a tough election for Khloe, as brother-in-law Kanye West was forced to concede – after only getting around 60,000 votes during his own run.
Shakira made it a family affair as she took in the news with her kids – who she shares with Spain footballer Gerard Pique.
‘Celebrating with my children this new phase of unity and healing that begins now with Biden as new president elect,’ she said.
Stephen King made a triumphant return to Twitter to cheer the news – having previously stated he would stay off the platform until the results were in.
The Shining author said: ‘CNN just called it. Joe Biden is President Elect.
‘This wretched, wretched presidency is coming to an end.’
Jameela was among the first to celebrate the news, thanking those who were part of the vote count.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: ‘OMG finally.
‘This is purely a credit to organisers and those who fought and risked their safety to count every vote.’
