James Martin started a 24-hour countdown to some “exciting news” online this morning. The Saturday Morning host caused a stir by sharing a new video.
I can’t wait to share some exiting news with you in 24 hours
The 48-year-old told his 631,000 followers on Instagram and 708,000 on Twitter that all would be revealed at 8am tomorrow.
The chef urged those watching to “stay tuned” and to register for “pre-sale access”.
He made sure not to reveal too much, after first teasing the big announcement on Saturday.
Many speculated as to what it could be in the comments, with James’ latest update increasing interest.
The clip saw him sat at what appeared to be his home, wearing a simple grey shirt.
He captioned it: “Exciting news coming tomorrow at 8. Sign up for pre sales access via the link in my bio!”
He reiterated what he’d written in the video itself, with a cheeky smile on his face.
“Hi everyone,” James said. “I can’t wait to share some exiting news with you in 24 hours.
“Stay tuned for more info and don’t forget to sign up for pre-sale access.”
“Signed up!” one enthusaistic fan told him, as a second agreed: “Can’t wait!”
“Going on another tour?” a third asked, as another comment pointed out it was also “Star Wars Day”.
Others were left unimpressed on being asked to sign up before knowing what it was.
“What the hell would we be signing up for please?
“I got enough rubbish coming into my mailbox without ‘signing up’ for I don’t know what,” one unhappy user told him.
It comes just two days after he first confirmed the announcement on his social media pages.
He wrote last weekend: “Tune in at 8am on Tuesday, 4th May for an exciting new announcement!
“You don’t want to miss this one!”
Meanwhile, he also took time to answer an important question for an ITV viewer, about one of his TV recipes.
They asked via Twitter: “Morning James. Want to try your smoking method from last week but with duck what timings should I use to make sure it’s cooked through? Thanks.”
James told them: “Hot smoking for about 10 mins should be OK.”(sic)
