Ellie Goulding and Emma Watson Help Reveal 2019 England Women’s World Cup Squad

AceShowbiz -Stars including Ellie Goulding and Emma Watson helped name the England women’s soccer squad for the 2019 World Cup on Wednesday, May 08.

The team, known as the Lionesses, are heading to France for the tournament, where they hope to improve upon the semi-final appearance they managed four years ago in Canada.

Ellie announced that star forward, Fran Kirby of Chelsea, had made the team as expected, saying in a Twitter video: “I’m delighted for you Fran and the rest of the squad, what an incredible achievement.”

Ellie Goulding announced that Fran Kirby would join the team.

“Harry Potter” star Emma remained silent during her video, which was filmed in the woods, opening up a jacket to reveal Manchester City defender Demi Stokes‘ face.

Other celebrities who joined in the unorthodox announcement included James Corden, who told Ellen White she had made the squad, and singer Olly Murs and Anne-Marie, who informed Alex Greenwood and Rachel Daly they would be joining the team.

Male soccer stars past and present, including Alan Shearer, Ian Wright, Raheem Sterling, and Jordan Pickford, also joined in with the team reveal, while retired Lionesses legends Rachel Yankey, Alex Scott, and Kelly Smith also unveiled three players following in their footsteps.

The team, who are managed by former England and Manchester United player Phil Neville, begin their campaign with an epic clash against their old enemies Scotland in Nice on June 9.
