Dani Dyer ‘feels like a failure’ after being forced to give birth to son Santiago via C-section

Dani Dyer has candidly admitted that she "feels like a failure" and "keeps crying" after she was forced to have a C-section.

The 24 year old welcomed her first child, a son named Santiago, with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence last month.

She has now admitted it has been an "emotional week" since she gave birth and that she is battling the "baby blues".

Opening up to her dad Danny Dyer on their podcast, Sorted With The Dyers, she said: "I had to have a caesarean in the end and I was crying about that.

"I never wanted to have a c-section, I know they are very common and I know they happen but I never wanted one — that was never in my birth plan, so I started feeling like a failure.

"The baby didn't want to come out, my waters broke and I was at five centimetres and he wasn't dilating.

"I ended up having to have a c-section, it was an emotional day."


She continued to tell EastEnders star Danny, 43: "It's been hard.

"The baby blues are real. It is incredible; your body goes through so much.

"You just want to cry, I'd look at him and cry, I think because you're constantly thinking 'am I doing enough?'

"I've started breastfeeding and it's hard, it's difficult. You want to do everything right and I think that's why you cry."

Dani recently opened up on the moniker she chose for her firstborn, when one of her Instagram followers asked: "What made you decide on the name Santiago? It’s such a lovely name by the way."

The Love Island winner explained: "My mum is half Spanish and she said the name to me a few times. Then I see it on a programme and I fell in love with it [sic].

"Love that it’s unusual and really doesn’t bother me when people say they don’t like it."

Opening up more about his name on her and dad Danny's podcast, she said: "I just love the name, I remember seeing it on a show. I'm not going to say the show.

"Some people hate it or some people love it. I don't really care. I think he is the most beautiful boy in the world."
