Rapper Cardi B has appeared in court to answer charges in connection with a fight that happened at a New York strip club.
The 26-year-old Grammy Award winner was allegedly involved in a bust-up with a bartender last year, which involved members of her entourage and saw two people get treated for minor injuries.
The rapper was dressed in a dark blue and light pink pantsuit with her hair tinted blue as she pleaded not guilty to attempted assault and various lesser charges.
Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, waved to a small crowd of fans that gathered at the courthouse, shouting her name and taking video with their mobile phones.
Police have said that Cardi B and her entourage argued with a bartender at Angels Strip Club.
They say this argument erupted into a fight, in which chairs, bottles and hookah pipes were thrown.
The bartender and another employee suffered minor injuries during the brawl.
Originally, Cardi B had only been charged with misdemeanours but prosecutors presented the case to a grand jury after she rejected a plea deal that would have given her a conditional discharge.
Two other defendants in the case who allegedly participated in the brawl also pleaded not guilty to similar charges.
The next court date was set by the judge as September 9, but Cardi B does not have to appear.
