Amanda Holden shares pics from romantic getaway with rarely seen husband Chris Hughes

Amanda Holden and husband Chris Hughes spent the bank holiday weekend relaxing in the countryside with their beloved dog.

Rarely seen in the public eye with one another, the couple – who tied the knot back in 2008 and share two daughters in Alexa and Hollie – featured in a homemade montage stitched together by the Britain's Got Talent judge, 52, and were seen soaking up the lush scenery from an outside jacuzzi and strolling in their wellies through field paths.

"The best day," Amanda captioned it. "With just my love and my other love #Rudie! Girls doing their own thing. We made the most of it ..out in the country [heart and champagne chute emojis] #bankholiday."

In the end, it was beautiful Rudie receiving the most attention in the comment section – not the famous TV star and record producer.

"Terrific to see that you did not choose an expensive dog to be trendy, you got an ordinary dog and she is lovely, probably worth more to you than all of the special breeds that stars pay thousands for.." pointed out one of Amanda's followers.

"Rudie is such a handsome boy! Those terrier mixes are something else, aren’t they, just full of personality and sass" and "Lovely quality time we don’t get it very often hope you had a fabulous day Xx," read an additional two messages.

This comes after the Heart Breakfast co-host took part in an exclusive chat with OK! to mark the latest series of Britain's Got Talent.

On her reunion with fellow judge Alesha Dixon, Amanda gushed less than a month ago: "We’re just on the same page for most things. And every now and then, we’ll say, 'Let’s have a sneaky G&T in the break, we’ll be fine.'

"It’s normally towards the end of the show when we know we’re going home soon. We can’t be too unprofessional."

Aside from sneaky sup sessions, the duo can relate to each other thanks to parenting two daughters each.

"We FaceTime the kids at the desk when it’s tea time, we bond over our guilt at not being there. We worry about all the same things – the homework, the exams. We’re just like any girlfriends," Amanda said.

Of course, being back on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel means she's also in close proximity to Simon Cowell every day.

"I feel like Simon is back to his evil self, which is good because I’ve missed that," Amanda teased. "I don’t like it when he gives everyone a second chance. I’m like, 'Who are you?' I prefer the bad Simon."

Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday evening on ITV.
